This coming weekend it's the turn of The Spooners & West Dartmoor to host their meeting at the picturesque course known as Cherrybrook. With seven races on offer and a start time of 1.30pm, and 55 entries received.

Condy Mathias sponsor the opening Maiden race, in which entries include Aunt Lily (Ed Walker), runner up in two of her points to date under jockey Chloe Emsley. Looking For Larry is another who could improve on his second place when at Great Trethew, when ridden by Jake Bament for the Jill Dennis team. Jetmeoutofhere could go well if the ground stays dry and follow up on his second in Ireland before joining team Summersby.

Exeter Racecourse sponsor the Intermediate race which follows, and is a qualifier for the Intermediate series final to be held this month. Hotel Du Nord (Will Biddick) for jockey Charlie Sprake is the highest rated and would be looking to finding his best form and should go close. Florrie Webb is another for trainer Will Biddick and won his maiden at Bratton last season who could appreciate the drying ground. Jeremy Central (Tom Malone) could be options for top jockey Will Biddick, he won well when winning at Great Trethew, but then caught home close to finish at Buckfastleigh. Don't Ask Us catches the eye, who could run well here for team Cummings and Josh Newman to ride having won well at Milbourne St Andrew.

There follows an Owner/Trainers Conditions race sponsored kindly by HCL Architects and in celebration of Mr Billie Lee's 90th birthday, with suggestions being Footloose who is progressing fast having won his Maiden/Restricted and Intermediate races for Trainer/jockey Arron Butterfield. Mickey Stark, was impressive when enjoying the sticky ground at Buckfastleigh and could continue that form here for his owner/trainer/jockey Zoe Hawkins.

The Mixed Open race is sponsored by DRB Crs and could see champion jockey Will Biddick extend his lead in the National jockey's championship, having won five races over last weekend whilst at the Cotley and Trebudannon meetings, he could be aboard Story of Friends for new trainer Syd Hosier. Sixteen Letters for the Neil McLean team, should go close if recovering well from his 15-length win at the Cotley meeting last weekend when ridden by Lucy Turner. Molineaux for trainer Colin Tizzard and young jockey Freddie Gingell normally races every other weekend, so may skip this race after his win at Cotley, but would be likely favourite if turning up here.

TRW Engineering sponsor the following race which is another Conditions race, in which Lillington looks to set the standard for team Tizzard if turning out soon after his three-length second also out last weekend. last weekend under Freddie Gingell. River Myth is a lovely mare who has given her owners the Hamlin and Gardener families a lot of fun in pointing, and she could challenge in the conditions race on her solid previous form, having won or been placed in twenty of her starts to date including a win at this track.

Next up is the Molly Malone Restricted race sponsored by Olivia Tatton Brown & Guy & Fiona Kirkwood, in which Reflex Action (Paul Nicholas) winner at Milbourne St Andrew under Darren Edwards, and Transition Period (Dean Summersby) a Wadebridge winner, looking likely favourites.

Finally up to close the days event is The Spooner's-sponsored Members in which Honest Opinion another out of the team Summersby's yard sets the standard, and could find Bingo D'Olivate (Gordon Chambers) challenge up the home finish.

This is a must day out in the spring weather enjoying the fresh air in the countryside. The course offers fabulous viewing, hot and cold food and refreshments, along with bar, bookies and a host of trade stands. There is also a novelty raffle for Booze in the barrow, where you win both. Entrance to the course is £15 on gate, per person includes racecard. Children under 16 free. Dogs on leads welcome. Course is located off A386 North of Tavistock Postcode PL19 0LA.
