Organiser of the Silverton Point-to-Point meeting to be held at the Dunsmore track, will be hoping for some rain this week to ensure perfect going, however they do have the ability to water the course if necessary, giving the track ideal going, for a fabulous race meeting this Sunday April 10.

There are six races on offer with at start time of 2pm. 80 Entries have been received

The Lorraine Kelly-sponsored Members races heads up the action and is run in the memory of the late Brian Kelly. Entry Druid Spitfire is one who could follow up on his recent run at the Buckfastleigh meeting when finishing six-lengths third for owner/breeder Elizabeth Kessler. The now veteran gelding could could come up against youngsters here including the six-year old gelding Clayway, for trainer Les Jefford, with a promising jockey on board Conor Houlihan, who will be trying to improve on their fourth place at Great Trethew in February. Nikki Steel (Robert Chanin) is another who will be looking to improve on place form, when finishing six-lengths second at the Wadebridge meeting in December under Anna Hylands.

There follows a Conditions race for novice riders race sponsored by Gingerlands livery yard. Entry The Big Sting looking to set the standard for the Chris Barber team having already won three races this season the latest being at Milbourne St Andrew. Bistori D'Honore (Michael Felton) ran five-lengths second at Milbourne St Andrew, and Field Exhibition (Ed Walker) also scored a second, this came at the Wadebridge meeting when finishing a neck behind Broadclyst. Jockey Charlie Sprake looks to have the option of two potential rides being the consistently placed Hotel Du Nord for Will Biddick in his training capacity, and Imogens Thunder for trainer Mary Tory, another to have finished placed this season.

The Intermediate race is the last qualifier for the Intermediate series race final to be held at Exeter Racecourse on April 14.  This could go the way of entry Dr Rhythm for the Keith Cumings team, who will want him to reverse the placings with The Big Sting, if the latter connections choose this race over the earlier Conditions race, when there was only a length between the two with The Big Sting under Will Biddick, coming home ahead of Dr Rythm ridden by Josh Newman that day. Another to consider is Jeremy Central ( Tom Malone) another who could have the booking of Will Biddick to ride, who will be looking to increase his lead in the Gentleman's National Jockey's title, and the horse having been given plenty of time to recover from his close second at Buckfastleigh.

A&S Paring Building Merchants sponsor the Mixed Open which holds 17 entries. Those if challenging here, will be hot in the betting arena are, Sixteen Letters (Neil McLean) for either jockey Josh Newman or Lucy Turner, both of whom have won on him this season. Envoye Special (Chris Barber) who under James King held Sixteen Letters into second place at Larkhill in December. Molineaux a winner last weekend at Cherrybrook for young jockey Freddie Gingell and trainer Colin Tizzard are on an impressive five wins this season. Sykes is also among the entries and is already on three wins this season under Darren Edwards. The outside raider Moratorium (Myles Osbourne) is on four wins and must be among the hot favourites if travelling to this meeting, his latest win coming home a five-length winner at Ston Eston under Nathan Green.

The Restricted race is sponsored by Jewsons @ Tiverton, with the highest rated Ninth Wave for trainer/ jockey Will Biddick could add another score to his title race, Clever des Assence is another to mention, out of trainer Laura Jones yard will have the booking of Natalie Parker, they could improve on their recent second at the Ston Eston track. Quinin's Man (John Heard and Westhill (Sam Loxton) are both winners of their maiden races last month and should be progressive if ground to the liking.

Devon Fuels sponsor the final race on the card which is a Maiden race attracting 24 entries These include Balinesker Beach, Hold Me Tight, Misstree Song, Rock D'ete  and Rufio , who are just a few catching the eye with place form, of those entered on first glance.

The committee would like to say a huge farewell and massive thanks to Linda Courtney who is retiring as entries secretary. Linda was a keen Point-to-Point rider in her day.
