The Stevenstone meeting is a great way to round up the Bank Holiday weekend  at Vauterhill on Monday May 2nd. Six races are on offer with a start time of 2pm.

The feature race of the day which is the Kivells Auctioneers-sponsored Mixed Open race, and with the championships hotting up, this race is bound to be competitive. Will Biddick takes the ride here on entry The Big Sting for trainer Chris Barber, and they will be hoping the win could help take back the National Gentleman's jockey's title, which was won last year by James King. The Big Sting has rewarded the team with four wins this season having progressed fast through Maiden to Intermediate races. His opposition could be Eric The Third for trainer John Heard to follow up on his win at Trebudannon under jockey Jake Bament.

The day starts with the Lomas Helicopters-sponsored Conditions race which could go the way of Little Billy Boy for trainer Annabel Bacon having run four-lengths second at Cothelstone behind Imogens Thunder at Cothelstone. Doctors Differ for the George Hiscock team is another to have finish close this season when coming home one-length third at the Cotley meeting under jockey Ella Orrtewell.

Penbode Vets sponsor the Restricted race which could see a battle between Clever Des Assence for the Laura Jones team and jockey Natalie Parker to ride and improve on their dual runner up places at Ston Eston and Dunsmore. Also entry Golly It's Molly won the Members at Dunsmore under Jake Bament, and Ask The Lady for trainer Dean Summersby is another suggestion with the team back in form and should improve on their second at Trebudannon.

Brewer Harding & Rowe sponsor the Intermediate race, which could see entry Don't Ask Us follow up on his two length second at the Dunsmore meeting for the Keith Cumings team. Reflex Action is another suggestion after his Cherrybrook win under jockey Darren Edwards.

The Jockey Club Mares & Fillies Maiden race holds twelve entries which include Kate's Lane (Elizabeth Scott) second at Dunsmore, She's A Legend (Stuart Sampson) third at Barbury, Queen Kalamba (Amber Jackson-Fennell) second at Lydstep and Wise Garden (Danielle Kenealy) one length second at Ston Eston for jockey Charlie Sprake.

Whilst the final race of the day is the Open Maiden sponsored by Wades, with entries Roc The Boat (Jennifer Boucher), Roc Motion (Dean Summersby) and Gingerbred (Laura Jones) could be among those fighting out the finish having shown promising form to date.

The organisers would also like to mention sponsors Hembury Castle Estate and LAS Aerospace for their generous sponsorship.

The on course facilities are bar, bookies, trade stands, hot and cold food and refreshments.  Entrance to the course is £10 per person Children under 16 free. Dogs on leads welcome The course is located at High Bickington, signposted off A377, A3124 and B3317. Postcode EX37 981. There will be no live streaming for this meeting.
